CHILD ABANDONMENT; a crime or an act of love?
January 16, 2008
There are said to be 3 top reasons for child abandonment; first is for the fact that the mother is a single parent, second is because the child is a fruit of an illicit affair, and third is because of poverty. Child abandonment caused by being a single parent is brought by the fact that they cannot raise the child alone, that this was an affair that the father would not care about, the mother herself was also an abandoned mother, child abandonment caused by an illicit affair is brought about by the fact that the mother was guilty for the fact that this was a fruit of a wrong relationship, they could not bare thinking what the public would say about it, and both parties have families and a single child brought by this illicit affair would surely ruin both families, child abandonment by poverty is very common here in Philippines, knowing the condition of most of the Filipino's that are poor and unable to feed themselves, having a child in the house would surely not come convenient.
One thing that bothers me most is the question that; is child abandonment a crime? a choice of doing the lesser evil? or simply an act done by the love of mother for her child? I am thankful for the fact that the mother did not consider abortion during her pregnant days, for surely that would be an unforgivable crime in the eyes of man and God, this is an act of choosing the lesser evil, but still I cannot blame them for abandoning the child for as how i see it, they wish nothing more but the best for their child, say if the child was brought by an illicit affair, even if the mother can feed and educate a child, the child will only grow with hatred as his/her surrounding, by the fact that he/she was the a child of an illicit affair, hated by both families, and if by poverty and single parent, they know properly that they cannot feed the child if they bring ti with them, it will only die of hunger, the child will be deprived of education, he will grow of poverty and will only bring more poverty in the succeeding years, the mother only took her chances of leaving the child, hoping that the child would be adopted by people who can support the child's education, who can feed the child, who can give him/her a home..
Though I may consider it a cruel thing to do to abandon a child for the care of others, I also cannot deny the fact that it was simply an act done by a mother's love for a child, only her consideration for the situation of the child, her child..
Child abandonment is not because the mother does not love the child, it is actually a HUGE sacrifice to give up your child, for the care of others, away from you, your own blood, a child you carried for 9 months, a child of your own.. for me, child abandonment is an act done by the incomparable love of a mother for her child.. that she made a great sacrifice.. for the future of the child.. come to think of it, the mother did not aborted the child, that alone is an act of love for the child and an act of responsibility. Child abandonment is simply a choice between doing the lesser evil and the greater evil.

PESO UP? or DOLLAR DOWN?
January 14, 2008The media's posts leads the general public into the belief that our PESO has dramatically increased its value in the world trade market, that the government has done a relevant work for this phenomena. But the truth of the matter is that it is not our peso that has increased its value but simply the US ECONOMY is not in good shape, thus causing the DOLLAR value to gradually decrease on it's world trade value against other currencies.
I have nothing against the government nor the country, but simply the mislead of this simple facts can sometimes corrupt our mind and puts a stable thinking which affects our overall responsibility to this country, to help it grow, and this misleading of ideas leads us to detour our concentration on thinking that this government has done good, and forgetting the undeniable fact that they are stealing right in front of us! Again, i have nothing against the government but I just cant stand watching this "feelers" suck all the money of this country, buy buying luxury cars, having their children study abroad as a preparation for their *political dynasty, their expensive trips all over the country, drinking such expensive wine that costs P40,000, that of which is the cheapest amount. The mislead of the media sometimes leads the public to an unguarded position which makes it easy for this crap politicians to steal money.
Come to think of it, if the PESO value has really gone up, why is it then that all our consumables are still on the same price? Thus giving the families of the OFW's a hard time. This fact simply tells us that it is not our PESO that has increased its value but it is the US DOLLAR that is gradually decreasing its worth against other currencies.
Let us not let this misleading facts by the media tear down our guard against the stealing government, let us keep our eyes open and our mouth ready to shout for justice!

The True Meaning of Intelligence
January 13, 2008Intelligence, as most Filipino's would judge, is if a person could speak English fluently, where one can get "Inday Nosebleed" or if he/she is a dean's lister or has graduated with "flying colors".
The way we speak and the achievements we get are things that are most likely simple to achieve, this is only a limited part of the true meaning of intelligence, this is only limited to how memory works at its optimum. being a deans lister only needs your memorization of all the stuff in school, by memorizing formulas, researching the answers from books and the internet.. these things are clearly limited to the works of our memory. thus this alone can never be the basis of intelligence.
Though intelligence has many form, the true basis of intelligence is not by what you achieved, not by how you speak, or whatever, but for me, the true basis of intelligence is by how we think on situations in our daily lives, how we react on scenarios where everybody seems to find it impossible to solve! The true meaning of intelligence is by how our mind thinks and how it generates ideas and solutions in an instant, the true meaning of intelligence is by how we behave in this situations where we definetly think we know what to do, and then realize that we were wrong, yet still we accept the fact and move on.
Intelligence reflects on everything that we are, intelligence is not only limited to the works of the mind but also the abstract of our behavior in all kinds of situations.

RAGE
RAGE.. simply an emotion i cannot hide..
this design was made based on my emotion.. rage.. fury.. intense anger..
on deeper thoughts,.
emotions are inevitable, no matter how intelligent, noble, kind, respectful, silent, etc. you are, emotions, at times, they burst.. and when they do, you're an angel no more..
these are normal instances where we then reflect on what we have become, and seek the path of what we think is right..
rage is simply an emotion a person cannot evict easily in his/her heart, cause like in a crumpled paper, though you try to straighten it up, it can never return to its true form.. because the damage has been done..

IT’S COMPLICATED
IT's COMPLICATED!
this work, that i did last night, simply tells that my life is complicated..
love? studies? friends? all complicated.. even I find myself.. complicated..
well for deeper thoughts, i think the world itself is complicated, not by nature, but it is made complicated by the people living in it.
say for example, we are given the privilege to live in this beautiful world, yet we spend a lifetime destroying it.. its so complicated how the rich and almost perfect person sees life so negatively while those who has disabilities, who is poor, and who cant live life long.., sees life so wonderful and promising..

Underwater Extremity Voyage
January 12, 2008
Thrill and excitement embraces me as the day has finally arrived, the day of our underwater voyage!
It was a serene morning of Sept. 29, 2007, right before the alarms were to set off, my eyes were wide open, getting ready for our Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus diving, and its 5:00 am, everything is set, leave all the worries behind! And off we go to the wharf.
It was 8:00 am, as the sun begins to penetrate to our skin with a very cool breeze of the sea swathes us as we depart off to the
The time was 9:00 am, big scary waves bangs our boat, but nobody gives attention as we were getting ready for our voyage 20 ft. below. By batch we submerged with our dive masters, I was one of the several people who were designated for the afternoon session. It was a boring and dull moment in the boat, we were beating the crap on eating the junk foods then suddenly our instructor allowed us to swim just in the area to keep us busy, but of course, not without any life jackets, excitement again was running through my veins and whoosh! Gradually we jumped to the big blue sea, pretty scary though, realizing that your like 30 ft. or so above water, floating.. but fun had played its role of covering up fear.
It was time for lunch and we headed for Babu Santa Island, radiance of the white sand stricken our eyes, the sounds of the big waves coming through the seashores has enlightened our minds, this is a very ideal vacation area, I said to my self. After eating lunch, time was not ideal to be spent sleeping! Which I did..(*ugh) but my classmates spent time walking on the seashore, grasping the beauty of the shells, sand, creatures found in the shore and together with this was their pictorial.
It was now 2:00 pm, time to leave this paradise and back to our voyage to the Mansud Wall and Angel’s Cove. Faces of those about to dive was extreme, some were showing scared, others were very excited, while some showed mixed emotions of gladness and nervousness, I guess I was with the 3rd choice. It was my turn now, being the last one to dive, I was scared, and my heart pumps faster every minute and my knees were getting weak. I was putting on the fins while the dive master assisted me and wrapped this big bulky thing around me, attached with it is my source of oxygen underwater, the oxygen tank, I did check it our first just to make sure its not “shellane” *crack! I was now floating my way to the spot where we will submerged but before anything else, we had a quick recap on the briefing given to us a day before this dive, and he instructed to never forget the golden rule, “Just breathe continuously, never ever hold your breathe” and kapish! Down we go, breathing with this SCUBA made me feel like I was the villain in star wars, Dark Vader. There I was, dragged slowly, lower and lower to the sea floor, wow.. I said to myself, this is such a beautiful place, indeed it is very colorful and full of mysteries. This is absolutely a part of my life which I will always remember, to be one with their world, though in that few moments was an unforgettable experience. The biodiversity below show the amazing ecological balance of the seam while I was down there, I really explored every bit of everything that I see, I really appreciate the beauty of the underwater. Well, time is up! Time to ascend. Needless to say, when you’re submerged 30ft under, it is a different world.
This voyage has enlightened my young mind that marine life, 20ft or so below is beautiful and is diverse; this field work somehow opened my eyes to an encouraged soul to be more nature friendly and nature lover, this adventure also enhanced my awareness of the excellence found underwater and making true to the saying that the sea is one of the most unexplored places in the world, that it holds so much mysteries. Though time was fast, still this journey has successfully given us our goal, learning 30ft below is much better than in a classroom! The practice of imagination may be good but seeing the real thing is the real thing.

The truth about your security with condoms
In our epoch, the use of condoms is rampant as it gives protection over pleasure, protection from pregnancy, protection from sexually transmitted disease, but does it really protects us?
False sense of security, this is what I think condoms can give us all, having us blind on the bigger picture that as Christians and moral people, this is unethical and unbiblical. Is it enough to say that we can’t do anything as this is what our era has come to offer? Remember that our thoughts become our actions and our actions become our habits, habits become our destiny. Not only in the moral and Christianity aspect can a condom be criticized but also by the fact that quality is a question to be asked, will you willingly rely your future in a box worth not less than P10? Is it worth it? Having you future traded for an hour of pleasure? We, specially students that don’t have work, who relies fully on their parents money should think twice as this may ruin you future and thus having you ending up pregnant and having you to have the baby aborted or worst to be a broke minor lady taking care of your kids in the house waiting in vain for your minor boyfriend hoping that he would come home bringing money or food perhaps! This is not the future that anyone of us wishes to have, but yet it is a possibility that we can’t afford to take for granted as it can happen if we don’t treat situations maturely and responsibly.
That I give you is only on the Christianity and moral views of this matter, but have you ever thought of the biological issues this immorality can confer? That if a female subsequently commits abortion, she will have a delicate pregnancy and worst, having to put her baby’s life in danger as her baby might slip from her cervix as a side effect from her past abortion.
These are only few of the many thoughts we should come to think before committing any of these acts. Well I have nothing against pleasure but is it worth risking our future? Think about it..
We students have been given the full blow of the entire correct decision making, the effect of our decisions now to our future, and all kinds of education, yet still the majority amongst us chooses to learn the hard way. But it’s not too late; we can make a difference, by starting in ourselves.
